Sarah Hoy is the Top Searched Name on the 4th of July

The question I was asking myself when I came back in to the office yesterday was: Who is Sarah Hoy, and why was she such a popular search on Radaris on the 4th of July?

Naturally, I was curious to know why anyone would even be on their laptops this past Monday instead of being outdoors and celebrating the nation's independence day. And what makes this one name so special that it snagged the number one spot?

I did my own search of the name Sarah Hoy on Radaris in order to see if I could solve this mystery. Radaris turned up a lot of interesting things, like some news articles and some videos regarding that particular name. So I compiled a list of the most interesting things I could rummage up and posted them here. One of these Sarah Hoy's is definitely a popular girl:

1. The video from YouTube is about Sarah Hoy, the musician of traditional Scottish tunes. It's a pretty entertaining video. For one, its funny to fathom why the video-shooter felt the need to follow that old man for a good chunk of time in the beginning of the video. Secondly, since Barga is in Italy, what's with the Scottish music?

2. The first picture that comes up for Sarah Hoy is this itty bitty one of a different Sarah Hoy from Brooklyn, NY. This is a MySpace picture. Excuse me, I mean "$arah Hoy".

3. The top news result under "Sarah Hoy" is actually not even about a Sarah. It's a press release about a man named David Hoy titled, Hoy's 5 & 10 Salutes Longstanding Employees.

I haven't really figured out why this particular name was so popular on the fourth of July, but a "Sarah Hoy" search sure turns up some interesting stuff.
